Above picture added on 3rd Feb.2009: winged oxen at Agiary on D.N.Road, Mumbai. Notice it is shown "supporting" the beam above, Zoroastrian symbolism of Geush Urvan (Soul of the Kine-the World) supporting the world. Again like in Persepolis the Oxen are not free standing...and notice the result - the face and body sculpted in the Persepolis style.

Winged Bulls/Oxen in Persian/Zoroastrian art are shown "supporting" the structure as Geush Urvan-"Soul of the Kine-the World," that symbolically support the world. All major ancient sites in Iran that depict guards in bas relief, had these carved in side profile as seen in the bas reliefs, in the two pictures above, at the new Temple at Godrej Baug. FRONTAL PORTRAYAL IS OF ANCIENT HINDU RELIGIOUS ART.
